The Fundraising Page of Epworth United Methodist Church

Epworth United Methodist Church's partnership with the Black Wealth Builder's Fund is a faithful expression of our commitment to being an anti-racist, justice-seeking church. While embedded in a neighborhood that was developed deliberately to exclude people of color, today Epworth UMC is an intentionally multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-generational, and LGBTQ+-embracing congregation. We acknowledge the privilege many in our congregation have experienced—whether through access to GI Bill benefits, favorable FHA loans, or family support for home purchases—and how these advantages have contributed to the widening racial wealth gap. In 2024, over 95 congregation members have committed to making a meaningful and sustained contribution to the Black Wealth Builder’s Fund, taking concrete steps toward healing and repair.
